The State government has come under pressure from NGOs and other groups following the Chief Justice reportedly turning down the demand for a High Court Bench in the capital. Lawyers in Thiruvananthapuram Bar Association are on strike demanding the reinstatement of the high court bench
  4. Kerala’s public distribution system, the best in the country, is seriously affected by the shift in Central government policies on the allocation and pricing of food grains and increasing deficit in rice production in the State. Thiruvananthapuram is also seriously effected by this problem
